What's Next for Wing Island?

At a special town meeting on Mar. 6, Brewster voters effectively terminated a town proposal to construct an elevated boardwalk to Wing Island, located northeast of Drummer Boy Park.

Residents considered — and passed — three citizens petition articles during the session, which were submitted in opposition to the town’s Wing Island access initiative.

Though local officials classified the articles as advisory and non-binding, the town Select Board indicated it will honor the meeting's vote results.
