What is the Center for Coastal Studies?

The Center for Coastal Studies (CCS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to understanding, preserving and protecting marine ecosystems and the coastal environment through applied research, education and public policy initiatives.


What is the marine debris and plastics program?

The Center for Coastal Studies is engaged in studying, removing and educating about marine plastic pollution in a number of different ways. From beach cleanups and monitoring, to derelict fishing gear retrieval and student art projects, the Center is the leader on Cape Cod addressing this issue. It has grown it's marine debris and plastics program since its inception eleven years ago. Collaborations with multiple entities bring awareness to an increasing issue for our oceans. Run by director, Laura Ludwig, the Center's plastic and marine debris program has continued to grow by forming new partnerships.
