Chequessett Neck Bridge Breaks Ground

The $31 million bridge forms the project’s first piece of infrastructure

After nearly two decades of work, leaders and advocates of Herring River Restoration Project celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction of the Chequessett Neck Bridge.

The $31 million bridge forms the project’s first and largest piece of infrastructure and will replace part of the tide-restricting Chequessett Neck Road dike to improve the health of the Herring River estuary.
